TA3D 0.6 beta 9 for windows
I didn't pack the free data set with like in previous beta (mainly because the free data set has become big).
This beta mainly brings fixes and Spring S3O models are completely supported and rendered properly now.
As usual you'll find it there:
ftp://downloads.ta3d.org/binaries/windows/dev/0.6/

This was a bug in the free data set itself which is not included here, but yes it's fixed.

I must say that`s it`s really a nice package. All works smooth and nice. Yeah units sometimes bumps in the tree and the footprint is still too big for units (they cant stay still close to each other and pushing the neighbouring units till they move on a big distance away). Did you tweak the weight of the presence map?
And one more bug - i can`t input console commands (see screenshot)

Re: TA3D 0.6 beta 9 for windows
hehehe this is not a bug , console has changed it's now based on a LuaVM so all commands should be Lua code. Of course there is a new API that does exactly the same thing except it's more consistent and it supports Tab-completion (so you don't need to learn all commands).
Several commands (commands that change some state variables) are packed into 3 arrays: toggle, enable, disable
Other commands have the same name than before but they are Lua functions so instead of writing "exit" you should write "exit()". There is a bunch of commands starting with "set", to get the full list just type "set" and press Tab.
PS: the screenshot command is "screenshot"

hehe. I see.
How about adding new textures, that was made some times ago in the package?

What for? Include them in the packages - it`ll make units to look better. Most of players won`t download free resource set before it`ll be fully finished, since they have TA files, but it`s sad if they don`t see new hi-res textures

Re: TA3D 0.6 beta 9 for windows
Well I could have included it but since it's the same problem with unit models I should have included them too which would make a very big package (the free data set is around 35MB, almost twice bigger than the engine package ).
I am going to move more data from engine package to free data set package because it takes lots of space and it's not convenient to maintain 2 copies of those files (which results in bugs like in beta 8 package )

Well, yes, then we should make free resource data set nessesary for running TA3D (since there are more detailed models, textures, and maybe other resources as well) and update them as well as the engine itself ?

More or less because the engine can run with as little data as the archives from OTA demo but of course if you want all the nice 3D trees and units you'll have to use the free resource pack

Not
, butif you want all the nice 3D trees and units

Re: TA3D 0.6 beta 9 for windows
Well I agree for the stable packages and if the free set doesn't contain too much bugs (because some models need some specific scripts, for instance the ARMBRTHA can't fire properly because of this) but may be its a bit too much for a beta package ?
Anyway next beta will probably include the data set because we'll need to track bugs in it

Good news
And how about reducing unit`s area of influence? So they can stay still closer to each other?

Re: TA3D 0.6 beta 9 for windows
I've already reduced it in the last betas but I think implementing the hold position behavior would be a good idea and adding some constraints to automatic moves could help preventing units from going away.

This one is intersting, maybe cause that grey, but it look good in this camera
The units and terrain just perfect, maybe just make it be grey, apart free camera turn 180° and like rise head for looked up days, in other case just make the far space be grey fine..

The fog effect is reduced when the far sight option is enabled but you can disable it and get a dense fog again
