here is what I am proposing:
a dedicated screen, a bit like the main screen. You can select object by clicking on them, add/delete/move axis associated to objects, align objects using their axis, rotate/move objects along those axis using your mouse, create animation key frames from which you can generate animation scripts in Lua (and BOS ?). Then store everything in the 3DM file
Of course a script editor window will be available to manually edit the scripts
What do you think ?

What do you mean by saying "dedicated"? It will appers over the main screen? Maybe it should just replace main screen during process of animation edit?
Or maybe just create 2 3dmEditor`s? One for Texturing, scaling, shader adding and so on. And other strictly for animation? Just like in many software is done? Like LightWave, Maya and so on?

Well creating 2 3DMEditors will make 2 binaries, whereas we can put everything into one and reduce package size ... and since there is not too much features we don't need to split it.
by dedicated I mean it'll "replace" main screen (you can consider it'll be on top of main screen but will cover the whole screen )
