Can we use tree models from Spring? Can they be converted to 3dm?

I don't know, what 3d format do they use ?? If we can convert it to asc, 3do or 3ds there is no problem, and since TASpring is also free software, that's possible.

Looks like they use Wings to model things :) Must be no difficulties to use Spring`s trees.

Wings is just a preference of some modellers in spring.

We use either 3do builder or UpSpring, preferably the latter as its the only tool able to export s3o models.

UpSpring accepts 3ds and obj formats and one other but it cant model any geometry or perform transformations on vertexes.

Unfortunately Id think Springs trees are inferior to yours. Try looking up close at a tree in spring.

And moving them out of spring isnt so simple. Mainly because they arent models at all, they're procedural, drawn using a vertex line drawer class.

Look closely and youll see a textured cyclinder with a bark texture, and brown solid colour lines branching fof it, then quads attatched to the ends with random green pixels splattered over a brown line.

Well, we can use any 3do, asc, 3ds models in TA3D. It seems that we should use our own models. :D

Smoth made some trees you might find useful, you should ask him.

There are numerous other 3d features used on maps.
