It look very bad in TA3D.
I think added a spec option:
used OTA weapon,or used 3D weapon.
When used first,show the picture fully.
when used3D weapon,show with Perspective

It will cause a lot wrong when a mod used a unusual WeaponName.Thus i think there need a option that used OTA 2D picture,show the boom picture fully,dislike now that a part was covered By ground/
I think the easier and nicer way of handling this is to replace hard coded sprites (things that are set in the engine and are used as a weapon type) with hard coded 3D models. For other weapons, since we're going to rewrite them we'll replace sprites with models . This will keep compatibility with mods
Those hard code sprites include more than 4/5 weapon?
I think TA being Well-known by "eazy and total DIY".Just conside a option that changed Weapon between"Hard code 3D" and "The effect will not be covered by anything".
