Re: ta3d coding
also for model shading, we can set 'points' on a unit, say each corner on a model face. engine calculates the space between. shades according to an opengl shader. so smooth shading, and a face towards the upper right would get shaded more than one lower left face so it would all work out.

Not to start a debate matty, but I think this has great potential. A new map format support would be good as it would have proper texxes and HD, lua, realism. we could form it around the code that ta3d uses which would be cool.

(BTW shadows and new wave effects are by me. I added a "negative 0" which is impossible but yet possible, into the water stuffs.

Also the shadows are more detailed. Working on HD versions.

As for the engine using the data i have an outline. basicly what it comes down to is decompiling the .exe to load the .jar and natives from a directory, say ta3d\JRE\. the engine would treat the jars like it treats hpi files; basicly like a compressed zip. then the engine can use what minecraft does...

More detailed font? Such as like actually shaded with something along the lines of GLSL or with the same effect?
Or just nicer font? If the second one is correct, why not just enable anti-aliasing on the font to provide a form of font-smoothing.
